Thunder Egg Ltd Run (511511)<br />An opal light sky blue.

An opal light sky blue.

"Thunder Egg with Z671 Mirror Blue frit. There is something so unpredictable about the colour changing properties of this pretty blue grey opal glass. At first I thought it might be down to flame chemistry but I was careful to keep the flame neutral in the making of these beads. I suspect that the deeper grey beads are ones that have been worked longer in the flame but I will need to do some more testing to be absolutely sure but I really like it." "Well - whaddya know? There is, in fact, almost no trace of the opal sky blue, and it is pretty thoroughly Mink coloured. . . . Wow - flat out one of the most completely unexpected colour changes I've ever had." Read more at DragonJools blog.

"This dark and brooding set was created on Thunder Egg, a blue opal glass that strikes in variations of grey to mink hues." See more at Darlene's blog.

"Thunder Egg rods are a pale blue opal but it struck like MINK! It has a few more 'blushes' of either a whiteish color or maybe it's that pale blue on the surface of the Mink base."
